Abstract

1435024 Refrigerating ELECTROLUX Ltd 5 Oct 1973 [12 Oct 1972] 46592/73 Heading F4H An absorption refrigerating apparatus has an evaporator 53 which is mounted in a freezer compartment 66 of a refrigerator and which is heat-conductively connected to the condensing part 56 of a secondary system operating with condensation and evaporation of a refrigerant, e.g. dichlorodifluoromethane. The evaporator part of the secondary system comprises a coil 58 and coils 60, 62 forming shelves in a storage compartment 55. The absorption refrigeration apparatus comprises a boiler 22, a gas-heat exchanger 23, a relatively large absorber 24, a liquid-heat exchanger 26, a condenser 42 and an analyser 29. A pump 32 is heat-conductively connected to a flue 38 for a gas burner and to a sleeve 33 for an electric heating cartridge 34. The part of the coil of the evaporator 53 to the right in Fig. 4 operates at low temperature, e.g. between -30‹ and -22‹ C., and is heatconductively connected to the secondary condenser 56, and the evaporator coil part 64 operates at a higher temperature, e.g. between -22‹ and -19‹ C., and is heat-conductively connected to a freezing shelf 65. A removable heat-insulating body may be provided under the evaporator coil 64 to separate it from the chamber 55, Fig. 6 (not shown), and the condenser 42 may be cooled by a fan.
