Abstract

1,178,925. Refrigeration. CARRIER CORP. 26 April, 1967 [1 Aug., 1966], No. 19190/67. Heading F4H. In a compression-condensation refrigeration system having a condenser 7, sub-cooler 15 and evaporator 5, flow of refrigerant to the evaporator through an expansion valve 35 is controlled by a float 36 responsive to the level of liquid refrigerant collecting in the condenser. By this means full flooding of the sub-cooler is ensured. Refrigerant passes to the sub-cooler through an aperture 21 and from the sub-cooler to the valve 35 through an aperture 23.
