Abstract

477,373. Ships' hatches. WILLIAMSON, D. D., and MACGREGOR, J. June 29, 1936, No. 18007. [Class 113 (i)] In ships' hatches in which the hatch sections run on tracks 3 on the hatch coaming and are tipped into a vertical stowed position at the end of the hatch when it is opened, the rocking movement of the sections takes place about two pivotal axis in succession of which the second is at a lower level than the first. The hatch sections 1 first tip about the pivots 2a when they reach the end of the hatch opening, the rocking movement is completed about the pivot 7 when this pin reaches its associated support 5 mounted on the coaming.
