Abstract
422,938. Reversing rudders. HENDERSON, J. F., Glenfeulan, Shandon, Dumbartonshire. Oct. 27, 1933, No. 29848. [Class 114] A reversing rudder which when operating as an ordinary rudder is of streamline contour comprises a pair of shells 2, 2a which are hinged aft at 3. The shells are connected by upper and lower vanes 8a, 8, with the concentric stocks 1, 7, which are oppositely rotated when it is desired to spread the shells 2, 2<a> apart for reversing purposes, but are moved together when the rudder is operated in the usual manner.
