The lever o pivoted at r has perforations with one of which the rod i is connected, the perforation being selected to provide the most suitable leverage for the oarsman. The parts are disposed so that the mean path of the rowlock is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the boat. Specification 15594/01, [Class 114], is referred to.
