Abstract

8719. Sage & Co., F., and Atkinson, W. April 11. Stays for the swing lids of showcases &c., or for fan - lights or engine - room skylights. The stay E carries a pin E<2> which automatically engages an inclined rack B on the inner side of the show-case when the lid A<1> is opened to a normal extent. When the lid is further opened, the pin slips over the end of the rack B into a guide C fixed below the rack and allows the lid to close. A pivoted tongue D guides the pin E<2> on to the rack when the lid is again opened. Lateral displacement of the stay E is prevented by a head E<3> on the pin E<2>.
