477,098. Gathering grass seeds &c. HART, Ltd., M. M., and JONES, M. A. July 22, 1936, No. 20264. [Classes 6 (iii) and 58] A seed-gathering machine of the type in which a rotary brush 1 passes over a sole-plate 14 to sweep grass or like seeds into a receptacle 2 has the sole-plate 14 roughened or perforated. The receptacle 2 is carried upon wheels 4 and has hand shafts 5 that may be adjustable. The front end of the receptacle, which is open, is provided with a transverse spindle driven by chain-and-sprocket gear from one of the wheels 4 which may be spiked to grip the ground. The spindle is provided with a boss 9 of square section that is recessed to take plate members 10 carrying brushes 11. A block 13 extends across the lower end of the front of the receptacle and is provided with a roughened or perforated metal plate 14. A hinged cover-plate 15 extends over the rear part of the receptacle.
