Class 6(i) A cultivating machine comprises a freely mounted drum provided with blades 20 which pulverize the soil and throw it backwards where it is acted upon by blades 31. Tines 13, 14 are provided for tearing up the soil in readiness for breaking up by the blades 20. A rearwardly extending rake frame carrying one or more rake members or blades with or without a baffle plate which intercepts the soil and drops it in front of the rake may be pivotally attached to the arms 30 carrying the blades 31. Suitable ballast weights may be attached to the machine if desired.
