Abstract

Iron alloys for electric resistances contain 6,1-30 per cent of chromium, 3-12 per cent of aluminium, 0,07-0,2 per cent of carbon, and up to 5 per cent of titanium, which may be wholly or partly replaced by one or more of the metals vanadium, zirconium, niobium, and tantalum. The titanium content is preferably at least three times the carbon content, and where the other metals specified are used their content also preferably bears a stated relation to the carbon content. The alloys may contain also up to 0,75 per cent of manganese and 0,3 per cent of silicon.
