475,886. Water-tube boiler furnaces. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. May 28, 1936, No. 15071. Convention date, June 20, 1935. [Class 51 (i)] Baffles; roofs.- In a " once-through" water - tube boiler in which a part of the tube system supports one or more baffles serving to reflect heat back on to the fuel, the baffles have plain surfaces and simply rest, without the employment of hooks or the like, within horizontal or inclined grid - like " racks " formed by bending parts of the water tubes. Fig. 1 shows inclined baffles 3, and Fig. 3 an horizontal baffle 3 forming the roof of the combustion chamber, the baffles in both cases being supported within racks formed by bending the tube 1 of the boiler. Fig. 4 shows the invention applied to a boiler fired by a liquid-fuel burner 12, the horizontal baffle 3 being arranged at the lower end of a feed-water heater 14 and supported in a " basket-like " rack forming by bending a part of the tube 1.
