Abstract
475,413. High - frequency supply systems for discharge lamps. FODOR, J., and NORTH, V. B. May 13, 1936, No. 13596. [Class 38 (iv)] A discharge lamp 11 supplied from a valve oscillator 1 is connected directly to the tuning inductance 2 of the oscillator so that its capacity and the capacity of its leads forms the capacitative part of the tuned circuit. The supply to the valve may be D.C. or A.C. and a blocking condenser 5 is provided to prevent mains current being fed to the lamp. The valve and its accessories may be mounted on a chassis having input and output terminals or they may be secured to a strip of metal having flanged ends on which the valve and its tuning inductance are mounted. The lamp may have external or internal electrodes. Specifications 8712/13, [Class 39 (i)], 316,680, [Class 38 (iv)], and 461,336, [Group XVIII], are referred to.
