Abstract

1,034,510. Discharge lamp circuits. BRITISH LIGHTING INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 17, 1965, No. 6887/65. Heading H2H. In a discharge lamp circuit having a ballast inductor 15, a series resonant circuit 17, 18 tuned to the fifth harmonic of the mains frequency is connected across at least part of the inductor. A capacitor 19 may be connected in series with the lamp 13 or the inductor 15. Where a leakage transformer is used, the resonant circuit may be connected across at least part of the secondary winding. A number of lamps 13 may be arranged in series.
