Abstract
475,248. Indicating liquid levels. LAIDLAW, A. B. S. March 31, 1937, No. 9186. [Class 123 (i)] In a high and low water alarm for boilers, circuit-breakers H and L operating at predetermined levels are connected to a panel A, so that when the level is correct both contacts are made and a green light G is illuminated. When one of the contacts is broken, a relay S is de-energized, contact C is made, a red lamp R is illuminated, and a bell B energized, the circuit of the bell including a relay switch X, the coil Q of which is normally de-energized with the switch closed. On depression of a push-button D, the coil Q is energized, the switch arm X pulled over, and the bell circuit broken, the lamp R remaining in circuit. When the water level has been restored, circuits through H and L will be restored, contact C broken, coil Q de-energized and contact X restored so that the apparatus is re-set to operate as before if the water level exceeds either limit.
