Abstract

798,149. Discharging static electricity; transformers. GILBERT & BARKER MANUFACTURING CO. Nov. 26, 1956, No. 36051/56. Classes 35 and 38 (2). [Also in Group XXXVI] Apparatus for earthing a petrol lorry and providing an indication when a correct earthing connection has been made comprises a bridge circuit energized by a valve oscillator, a lead from the bridge being used to make the earth connection and unbalancing the bridge when a correct connection has been made. The bridge is connected to the oscillator and to an amplifier circuit controlling relays which operate suitable indicating lamps through transformers, the windings of which, 50, 52 and 35, 39, 45, are mounted as shown on dust cores 51 and 48 projecting through an insulating panel 94, the windings 45 and 50 being mounted on one side of the panel and the remaining windings on the other side of the panel. The dust cores 48 and 51 are earthed.
