[Class 37] A ratiometer comprises a permanent magnet 1 having pole-shoes 2a, 3a and 2b, 3b formed as part ring-shape members separated by uniform air-gaps in which coils 4a, 4b mounted on a spindle 5 take up a position corresponding to the division of a resistor 7 which can be associated with a pressure gauge 8, the coil 4a moving in a magnetic field which increases or decreases in strength as the field in which the coil 4b respectively decreases or increases in strength.
