Abstract

474,664. Wireless receiving systems. BARBOUR, K. H. March 4, 1936, No. 6593. [Class 40 (v)] An aerial system designed for operation over a plurality of wave-bands comprises a conductor 2 coupled, for long wavelengths, to a feeder 1, 13 through a transformer 7, 8 whilst for another range of wavelengths it is substantially an odd multiple of #/4 and is connected to the feeder through a series resonant circuit 9, 10 which effectively short-circuits the transformer 7, 8. One or more other aerial conductors 3, 4 may be connected directly to the line 13 for operation on other short-wave bands. The line 1, 13 may be connected directly to the receiver terminals A, E, or by switches 15, 16 through alternative matching transformers 17, 18. The transformer 7, 8 and filter 9, 10 may be housed within an insulator 6 supporting adjacent ends of the conductors 2, 3. Specification 444,494 is referred to.
