Abstract

474,417. Separating solid materials. NALDER & NALDER, Ltd., and NALDER, E. W. March 31, 1937, No. 9177. [Class 117] The material to be sorted is fed from a hopper F into a conveyer situated in the upper part of the cylinder and comprising a rotating screw G and a fixed trough E having apertures E<1> through which the material passes to a plate H which feeds it in a thin stream against the descending side of a rotating pitted cylinder A, the stream extending the length of the cylinder. The material meets the side just below the level of the axis B of the cylinder A. The particles retained in the indentations of the cylinder A are collected in a trough J and conveyed to an outlet M, the remainder of the matter passing from the cylinder through an aperture L. Scrapers N may be provided.
