Abstract

472,716. Gun - carrying platforms. RHEINMETALL-BORSIG AKT.-GES., and KRUM, A. July 21, 1936, No. 20168. [Class 92 (i)] Arms A for anchoring a platform B carrying a fixed-pedestal gun mounting are locked in adjusted position by a toothed coupling D having teeth d<1> engaged with teeth b<1> on the platform B and crown teeth d adapted to engage with teeth a on the anchoring arm. The hinge-pin C for the anchoring arm is screwed at c to engage a nut portion d<2> of the coupling, so that on rotation of the hinge-pin as by a tommy-bar c<1> the coupling is positively moved into or out of engagement with the teeth on the anchoring arm. A spring pawl e engages with a toothed wheel c<2> on the hinge-pin to prevent unintentional rotation of the hinge-pin.
