Abstract

472,259. Electric control systems. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and CLARK, L. J. March 18, 1936, No. 8135. [Class 40 (i)] The known type of system in which the transmitter and receiver are similar polyphase machines having their stators interconnected and their rotors excited by the same source of A.C., is modified by inserting rectifiers in the leads interconnecting the stators and employing a permanent magnet or D.C. excited electromagnet as the rotor of the receiver. As shown the rectifiers 26 are of the rotary commutator type and are followed by a filter 27 for eliminating A.C. ripple.
