Abstract
487,457. Electric signalling systems. ALLGEMEINE ELEKTRICITATS - GES. Sept. 14, 1936, No. 25084. Convention date, Sept. 13, 1935. [Class 40 (i)] In a repeating system, the repeaters comprise induction regulators, the rotor and stator of each repeater producing magnetic fields having the same frequency, one being rotary and the other alternating but stationary with respect to the part producing it, any phase shift between the fields due to a shift made at the transmitter causing the rotor to move until the phase difference is removed. The stators of the receivers 6, 7 are fed with three-phase current while each rotor carries a single phase winding supplied from the winding 8 of the rotor 3 which is rotated by the synchronous motor 9 in the magnetic field produced by the coils 1, 2 and movable by the worm gearing 22. Movement of the field alters the phase of the current in rotors 4, 5 causing them to move to restore the phase balance. The transmitter may consist of an induction regulator of similar construction and connected to the supply in the same manner as the repeaters, and the receivers may be provided with damping devices. When used to determine the direction of the earth's field, an amplifier may be used between rotors 3, 4. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a system in which the rotors have multi-phase windings. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 339,664, [Class 40 (v)], and 357,222.
