Abstract
A mosaic screen for cathode-ray tubes, more particularly for television, comprises an electrically-conducting grid coated on at least one side with insulating material, a second conducting grid mounted on the insulating coating in such manner that the p apertures in the grids are in alignment, and electrically conducting mosaic elements which are mounted on and insulated from the first grid in such manner that they close the apertures in the first grid but do not extend within the apertures of the second grid. A grid coated with insulating enamel is lowered, on a frame, into a tank of water on which is floated a film of platinum chloride dissolved in lavender oil. The grid is then raised horizontally so that the film is deposited on one side thereof; air is blown from the uncoated side through the apertures in the grid to remove parts of the film which may close them. The film is reduced by heat to form the second grid. Specifications 447,819 and 471,109, [both in Group XL], are referred to.
