Abstract
470,837. Hydraulic transmission of power. GARVAR HYDRAULIC TRANSMISSION PROPRIETARY, Ltd. Nov. 19, 1935, No. 32031. Void. Convention date, Feb. 13. [Class 69 (ii)] Hydraulic transmission mechanism comprises an impeller 11 fitted with spur gear pumps, a turbine 31 with blades 32, 33, 34, and reaction blades 35, 35a carried by the stationary casing 5. One of the gears of each spur gear pump has on its spindle a pinion 14 meshing with a sunwheel 15; the latter may be held stationary by engaging clutch members 20, 21, or be left free to rotate. The freeing is effected when the driving shaft 6 is coupled to the driven shaft 7 by moving a slidable member 39 to the right. When the member 39 is moved to the left, the secondary shaft 8 is coupled to the driven shaft 7, and the sunwheel is then locked. In the latter condition, a reverse drive may be effected by engaging a slidable pinion 52 with an idler pinion 53.
