Abstract

469,790. Road - traffic signals on vehicles. ROBERTSON, W. P. Sept. 10, 1936, No. 24686. [Class 118 (ii)] A ring of apertures provided on a driving mirror can be illuminated green or yellow to indicate " pass " or " caution " to a following vehicle. The apertures may be fitted with lenses H as indicated in Fig. 2, and be illuminated by either yellow or green lamps or the lenses may be yellow and the two colours produced by using clear and blue lamps. The apertures may be provided by removing the silvering from a mirror as shown in Fig. 4, the lenses being moulded in the glass front A or the apertures may be replaced by a continuous ring. Instead of providing lamps of different colours the colour change may be effected by moving a disc M, Fig. 6, which is provided with yellow and green lenses B, B1, the disc being moved by electromagnet Q.
