Abstract

Dispersing-agents for transferring pigments from aqueous pulp into oil consist of amines containing at least one alkyl radical which comprises at least three carbon atoms, such as monoamylamine. The amines may also contain hydroxy groups, as e.g. butanolamine and hydroxyhexylamine, and they may also be condensed with carboxylic acids, e.g. abietic, stearic, ricinoleic, oleic, linoleic, or with sulphonic acids or their derivatives such as halogen substitution products. The aqueous pulp and the oil are mixed, the dispersing agent being added to either phase or to the mixture, and mixing is continued with or without heat until the water separates.
