Abstract

468,727. Inking-apparatus. TOY, A. W., and RONEO-NEOPOST, Ltd. July 3, 1936, No. 18469. [Class 100 (ii)] An inking-device for use with postmarking, stamp-cancelling, or other printing-machines comprises an ink receptacle 10 detachably mounted on the machine and containing a freely-rotatable metal cone 20 contacting with a felt or like covered distributing-roller 16 by which ink is applied to the inking-roller of the machine. The receptacle is attached to the machine by means of a screw about which it can be swung to bring the roller 16 into or out of contact with the inking-roller. The cone 20 is mounted on a spindle 21 and its rotation, obtained by means of a handle on the spindle or on the shaft of the roller 16, is controlled by a spring 22. The roller 16 is loosely'mounted on its shaft and is connected thereto by means of a pin on a collar 17. Ink is supplied to the receptacle through an aperture 10f closed by a cover 23 provided with a finger-piece 26 and held down over the aperture by a spring 25 on the pivot pin 24.
