[Class 37] The separating material between anode and cathode is formed from a disintegrated cellulosic material applied while in the disintegrated state to at least one surface of the anode or cathode. The cellulosic material, which may be cotton flock and may have an adhesive mixed with it, is preferably applied by spraying and is subsequently impregnated with electrolyte.
