[Class 37] An electrolyte is prepared by mixing together mannitol, a solvent and a film-forming agent, and boiling the mixture. The solvent may be a glycol or glycerol or water. The filmforming agent may be any weak acid such as boric, citric, malic, lactic, acetic, formic, phosphoric, or salicylic acid with or without a salt of one of these such as ammonium borate.
