[Class 37] In order to form good contact surfaces for the attachment of a sprayed &c. metal layer forming a terminal end of a rolled condenser having metallised dielectric sheets, the exposed edges at each end are roughened. The roughening may be effected before or after metallisation and may be done mechanically or by applying a swelling agent to the dielectric material. In one example notches, slots or grooves are made in the end of the assembled condenser.
