Abstract

466,821. Couplings. LOBL, F. S. Dec. 14, 1935, No. 34790. [Class 38 (i)] A terminal or connector for electric leads comprising a bent spring d the ends of which grip the leads h against an abutment plate e, is provided with externally operable means by which the ends of the spring can be displaced to form a space for insertion or removal of the leads. The means may consist of a pair of press-buttons f, Fig. 2, of insulating material each having a bifurcated base to span a partition c and press upon one end of each of the springs d, the plates e being recessed to form a space for the button. The operating means may consist of two elongated members f, Fig. 7, that can be depressed at either end so that each member acts upon both ends of one of the springs d. Alternatively separate members f, Fig. 12, each with an elongated end f that forms a fulcrum are held in a groove in the casing a<1> by the pressure of the spring d. The form of the spring may vary and the plate e may be a separate member or may be integral with either the spring itself, Fig. 7, or with a casing surrounding the spring.
