Abstract

466,616. Notice boards. DARLASTON, A. E. Jan. 31, 1936, No. 2921. [Class 3(ii)] A display stand for newspapers, posters and. the like comprises a base board provided with a pivotally mounted angle iron frame arranged so that the side limbs of the frame engage over the side faces of the base board, whilst the front limbs clamp the marginal edge portions of the poster against the face of the board. In the embodiment shown, the base board consists of a rectangular frame built up of four strips of wood 1 to the face of which a panel 2 is secured, and the frame 4, comprising four lengths of L- section iron, is hinged thereto on a rod 7 supported in plates 6 screwed to the front face of the frame 1. When the frame 4 is closed, the limbs 4a draw the edge of the poster 5 over the edge of the board and the limbs 4b clamp the. marginal edge of the poster against a recessed edge portion 3 of the base board. A plate 9 secured to the frame 4 and bearing the name of the newspaper to which the poster relates, clamps the upper end of the poster against the board.
