Abstract

242,845. Butcher & Sons, Ltd., W., and Joseph, I. Feb. 26, 1925. Picture and like frames. - In passepartout frames having a celluloid front, cockling of the celluloid, owing to the action of adhesive, is prevented by the use of a complete sheet of adhesive-coated binder, the margins of which are turned over and secured to the back of the frame, an opening being then cut in the front of the sheet to display the picture. The frame is made up of a backing 1, a border frame 2, if required, and a sheet 3 of celluloid, all of which are bound together by means of a binding-sheet 4, in which an opening is then cut by means of a suitable machine. A thin card may be interposed between the binding-material and the celluloid. The frame may be made up with the picture in position, or the backing 1 may have a cut-out part 7 attached by means of an adhesive paper hinge.
