Abstract
411,963. Signs; display stands. PHILIP, E., 18, Monteith Row, Glasgow. Aug. 31, 1933, No. 2746. [Class 3 (ii).] A display device comprises two or more frames each having one edge normally open so that a sheet or sheets of glass, cardboard, sheet metal or the like and /or an advertising element can be slid into or out of the frame, each pair of frames being directly hinged together by a removable hinge pin. As shown in Fig. 1, frames having sides 1, 2, 3 of channel section and a top 4 of strip form are hinged together by pins 10 passing through complementary bosses 8, 9 on adjacent frames. The advertising matter is arranged on a sheet which is placed between glass plates 5, 6 or secured on a glass sheet 7. Alternatively the matter may be written on a frosted glass sheet 12. In Fig. 4, three frames form an enclosure housing an electric lamp 22, the frames having sides and top of channel section to receive a glass plate 14 retained by a keeper 15. A cover 19 may be hinged to one of the frames, and a hook 17 is soldered to each frame for suspension from chains 18. Fig. 7 shows one arrangement embodying a display rack in which three frames 34 are hinged together by wire legs 30 formed integral with stepped portions 31 of a wire rack supporting a paper sheet 33 for displaying samples. Other forms of racks are described.
