Abstract

471,041. Easels. HENDERSON, R., and WINSOR & NEWTON, Ltd. Feb. 25, 1937, No. 5649. [Class 52 (v)] [Also in Group XV] Means for clamping paper to a drawing - board are carried by a stand or easel, so as to be independent of the board, which can be removed and replaced by another. The stand comprises front and rear members 1, 2, Fig. 1, each consisting of a pair of legs connected by a transverse member at the top. The members 1, 2 are connected by hinges 4. One or both of the members carry drawing-boards 3a, secured thereto by screws. Each upper clamping- member consists of a strip of wood &c., which can be forced towards the board by an eccentric rod 12, Fig. 3, mounted on the stand and turned by means of a handle 13. Each lower clamping- member 15 is carried by flat springs 16a, Fig. 5, from the stand, and is pressed towards the board by a rotatable cam-rod 18. The rod is turned by means of a member 19, which may form a shelf for pencils &c.
