Abstract

499,948. Work benches. HOOK, A. R. Sept. 16, 1938, No. 27095. [Class 61 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] A workbench, table, desk, &c. comprises a single sheet of metal bent to form a vertical back 1 and sides 2 at right-angles thereto and enclosing a horizontal metal sheet 3 constituting the bench or table top welded to the back and sides slightly below their top edges leaving a rim 5, and one or more sheet metal shelves 4 also welded in position. The front edges of the sides 2 may be bent towards each other at 8, and a flat bar 6 may be welded to the front edge of the shelf 4. A drawer 9 may be mounted in slideways 10 fixed underneath the top 3.
