Abstract

579,684. Desks; tables. SAUNDERS-ROE, Ltd., and ROE, G. VERDON-. April 12, 1944, No. 6777. [Classes 52 (i), 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] An office table consists of a pair of tubular metal U-shaped end frames 17 with horizontal bearers 17<1> connected by tubular connectors 12 supporting a removable table top 10. The top 10 has sockets 20, Fig. 11, carrying dowels 21 engaging bushes 120 welded into the supporting framework 12. Filing boxes or cabinets 16 may be suspended, beneath the top, from the supporting framework by screws 121, Fig. 11, engaging the bushes 120 and screwed into sockets 20 carried by the filing cabinets. Larger filing or drawer cabinets 13 may be supported on plinths 14, the cabinets being located by dowels. The drawers 22, Fig. 3, have angle section metal or plastic strips 24 running on and against metal strips 26, 25. Shelves 27, Fig. 4, have metal or plastic T-shaped edges 28 engaging grooves in the cabinets &c. According to the Provisional Specification the end frames 17 may be made of wood or plastic. Specifications 3,029/99, [Class 52], and 162,779, [Class 52 (i)], are referred to.
