Abstract

449,971. Table tops and like furniture parts. HUNTER, R. W., and HUNTER, A. S., Hunter's Corner, Babington Lane, Derby. March 12, 1935, No. 7629. [Classes 52 (i) and 52 (iii)] A table top or similar part of a dresser or kitchen cabinet is reversibly mounted on pivots 15 slidable in slots 14 in runners 10 which also are slidable, so that when the runners 10 are pulled forward on their supports 13, 13<a>, the top 16 may be pulled further forward and inverted. In the edges of the top 16 are spring catches 18 which engage with the slots 14, 14<a>, and prevent it from tilting. The runners 10 are flat bars, and the supports 13 are formed by screws holding a cover plate 13<a>. The top 16 may have, for example, one enamelled face; or one leather covered face to serve as a writing- table, or a baize-covered face to serve as a card table.
