Abstract

877,889. Furniture combinations. ODELL, W. Oct. 19, 1959 [July 17, 1958], No. 23022/58. Class 52(3). A combination article of furniture has a top surface member 10 supported by two cabinet pedestals 11 the upper part 12 and lower part 13 of which are divided by a shelf 14 at the same level as a third shelf 15 extending between the inner walls 16 of the pedestals, and a leaf 17 at the front and a similar leaf, not visible, at the back are pivoted at the opposed front and back edges of member 10, these leaves serving, when depending, to close the ends of upper cabinet parts 12 and a compartment 18 formed between member 10 and shelf 15. The inner walls of the lower parts 13 are constituted by sliding doors 20 and a fourth shelf 21 and drawer 22 are provided. Table area may be increased by auxiliary members 24. The member 10 may have a translucent panel 30 beneath which is a light source, and a removable cabinet 31 has an internal light source the leads for which are connected to pins engaging sockets 32 having a switch operable by the positioning and removal of the cabinet.
