Abstract
Gaseous impurities, e.g. chlorine, are removed from solutions of chlorinated rubber by treating the solution with vapour of the solvent under such condition that deposition of solid chlorinated rubber is avoided. The solution, preferably preheated almost to its boiling point, may be allowed to flow down a packed tower in countercurrent to ascending vapours of the solvent.ALSO:Gaseous impurities, e.g. chlorine, are removed from solution of chlorinated rubber by treating the solution with vapour of the solvent under such conditions that deposition of solid chlorinated rubber is avoided. The solution, preferably pretreated almost to its boiling point, may be allowed to flow down a packed tower in counter-current to ascending vapours of the solvent. The solvent vapour may be super-heated to effect a concentration of the solution simultaneously with the degasefication.
