[Class 68 (ii)] In constructing a concrete or like pile of the cast in situ type, a pile tube A with its lower end closed by a shoe B and a plug of concrete is first driven into the ground by a hammer striking the tube or a helmet thereon, and then a rammer D operating within the tube is employed to drive out the plug and to form the pile.
