Abstract
431,069. Piles. ROTINOFF, A. M., and ROTINOFF, G. A., (Representatives of ROTINOFF, A. G.), 36A, Queen's Gate, South Kensington, London. Jan. 1, 1934, No. 27. [Class 68 (ii)] The pile shoes and parts of sections, or parts between the sections, are made of larger diameter than the remainder of the pile, which is driven through an enclosure g containing gravel, ballast, concrete, or other filling material. This falls into the annular spaces round the sections a, and is driven in with them so as to increase the grip of the pile. The enlarged parts shown are end flanges c, and are surrounded by metal bands d. In modifications, the enlargements are formed on short sections or collars between sections a of uniform diameter, the sections and collars being secured together by metal bands ; the enlargements consist of the outer parts of metal washer-like discs between the sections ; the sections are stepped and of diameter increasing upwards, and are driven by a stepped mandrel.
