454,228. Driving piles. CONCRETE PILING, Ltd., 28, Victoria Street, Westminster, and LEIGHTON, J. M., Dalry, Helen's Bay, Co. Down, Northern Ireland. March 25, 1935, No. 9193. [Class 68 (ii)] A pile is driven into the ground by applying to it a static pressure sufficient to keep it in motion and supplementing that pressure by hammer blows. The apparatus shown comprises a winch 7a and tackles 5, 5a, for applying the static pressure and a winch 8 for lifting the drop hammer 4.
