Abstract

510,064. Driving piles. BOHM, F. Sept. 20, 1938, No. 27433. [Class 68 (ii)] To assist in the driving or extracting of piles, sheet piling irons, &c., the pile &c. has imparted thereto rapid vibrations or reciprocations transverse to the direction in which it is to be driven, irrespective of any vibration which may be imparted in the known manner in the driving direction, whereby the resistance to the entry of the pile into the ground is reduced. The vibrations may be imparted to the pile by an eccentrically mounted oscillating or rotating weight 3 driven by a motor and mounted on the pile 1. Liquid may be conveyed into the earth through passages 7.
