463,152. Knitting - machines ; knitted fabrics. BLACKBURN & SONS, Ltd., G., and JARVIS, F. J. May 28, 1936, No. 15041. [Class 74 (ii)] Each course of a patterned interlock fabric is knitted from four threads, alternate cylinder needle wales in the pattern from one thread d, the other alternate cylinder needle wales of the pattern from a second thread c, alternate cylinder needle wales in the ground from a third thread b and the other cylinder needle wales in the ground from a fourth thread a, each at a separate thread feeder, while alternate threads in the four which form the patterned face are knitted on alternate rib needles G and the remainder on the other rib needles, there being twice as many courses knitted in the rib needle wales as in the cylinder needle wales. A device A is fitted which can make a selection from alternate cylinder needles D and cause such selected needles to tuck or to clear their loops for patterning purposes. The ground and pattern threads are of different colours, and the two ground threads and/or the two pattern threads may also be of different colours. The machine may have feeders and selectors in multiples of four.
