Abstract
524,651. Knitted fabrics. INTERLOCK PATENTS, Ltd., REYNOLDS, W., and BONSER, F. Feb. 2, 1939, No. 3556. Drawings to Specification. [Class 74 (ii)] Patterned effects or stitch variations are incorporated in one or both of the opposed rib webs of an interlock knitted fabric in which down the wales a number of successive sinker bars of one web are interposed between successive sinker bars of the other web. The patterns &c. may be the result of yarn changes, tuck, float or miss stitches, transferred or spread loops &c. and may be so devised as to shape the fabric. The two webs may be knitted of contrasting yarns. The fabric may be made on an interlock machine with four feeders at the first two of which the even cylinder and odd dial needles knit at the last two feeders. At appropriate intervals and at the required feeders certain selected or predetermined needles may be controlled to tuck, miss &c. in any known manner to produce, e.g., the upper and lower portions of a length of fabric suitable for a vest &c. the waist portion being shaped by there being fewer or no tuck &c. stitches.
