Abstract

463,015. Dynamo-electric machines. SKODA WORKS, PLZEN. April 21, 1936, No. 11390. Convention date, April 23, 1935. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXII] Casings; yokes.-A casing for a dynamoelectric machine is formed by casting or spraying metal on to the outside of the stator core and winding. Fig. 4 shows such a construction in which the laminated core 1 and windings 2 are enveloped in a cast mass 3 which also includes cooling ribs 4 and a spider 7 for holding the bearing 8. Feet and flanges for securing other portions may also be made integral with the mass 3, or iron or like rings to which such portions may be screwed may be cast into the mass. The pole faces may be left bare as shown, or covered by a layer of metal. The laminae may be secured together by plates in known manner before casting. Fig. 7 shows the cast mass 3 combined with an iron casing 20 surrounding the core. The rotor may be coated with and secured to the shaft by metal in a similar way.
