Abstract

461,176. Lubricators. CONRAD, E. May 7, 1935, No. 7189. [Class 12 (iii)] A lubricator comprises a lubricant casing a having a cylindrical member b slidable therein and which is closed at its upper end and has a plunger e movable in its lower end, an air compression chamber being thus formed between the plunger e and the upper end of the cylindrical member b. The plunger e has a hollow boss o through which passes a spindle k provided at its lower end with a flange carrying packing l. The spindle k is under the action of a spring h urging the packing l into contact with the underside of the plunger e. The spindle k carries at its lower end, below the flange, a ring g whereby the plunger e may be moved longitudinally of the cylindrical member b by manual means when the member b is detached from the casing a. As shown, the cylindrical member b is urged inwardly to force lubricant from the nipple m by a spring c. In a modification the spring c is omitted, and the cylindrical portion b is screwed into the casing c.
