460,702. Severing bale-ties. GRAVES, W. L. (Signode Steel Strapping Co.) Sept. 29, 1936, No. 26396. [Class 83 (iv)] A device for severing a bale-tie comprises a plate 15 with an integral stamped out finger 17. The device is clipped over the tie and on winding the finger 17 upon a key 26 the tie is severed by the co-operation of shearing edges 20, 21, 18, 19. The device may form part of, or be secured to the sealing collar of the tie.
