Abstract
457,541. Cooling pulverulent materials. AHLMANN, N., 7, Taarnborgvej, Copenhagen. May 31, 1935, No. 15936. [Class 29] [See also Group XII] Pulverulent material such as cement, ore and burnt limestone is heated or cooled during rapid movement in a thin layer along a helical path on the inside surface of a cone, cylinder or other body of revolution subjected on the outer surface to the action of the heating or cooling medium. The material is fed by a worm 11 to the bottom of a cone 1 and is lifted and moved around the inside of the cone by stirrers 9 on a shaft 3 and discharged through a tangential outlet 2 at the top. The outer surface of the cone is cooled by water from a spray pipe 12. A horizontal cylinder may be used, the material being fed in at the lower part of one end and discharged at the top of the other end. Specification 23060/07, [Class 72], is referred to.
