Abstract

339,105. Voss, W., and Vulcan- Feuerung Akt.-Ges. Nov. 27, 1929. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 28, 1929.] Liquids, supplying.-water which is injected into a shaft kiln for calcining lime or dolomite, is cooled nearly to freezing point to prevent its conversion to steam before it contacts with the charge. The water may be cooled in the supply tank, or the supply pipe may have a cooling jacket up to the discharge orifice, or cooled water may be supplied through a pipe conveying considerably more water than is allowed to enter the kiln.
