Abstract

457,271. Trailer brakes. EAGLE ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and WALTER, J. C., Eagle Works, Warwick. May 8, 1936, No. 13523/35. [Class 103 (i)] In a tractor and trailer connected by a king pin, a fluid pressure cylinder 11 on the tractor is connected to the trailer brakes by a Bowden wire 12, and lever 13 on a shaft 14 which carries a cranked part 14b engaging the lower end of a pin 17 passing through the axis of the king pin 7 which connects the trailer and the tractor and engaging a bellcrank lever 18<a> connected to the trailer brakes. The shaft 14 carries a lever 20 connected to a hand lever on the tractor by a cable 21. The shaft 14 is carried on a tube 16 supported at diametrically opposed points of the table 6 on which the trailer is mounted. The king pin 7 connects the table 6 and the trailer and is held in position by a catch 8 operated by a handle 9 or a cable 10.
